PROACTIVE MONITORING

Cyber-Synergism provides 24x7 NOC-based support for our Maintenance customers as well as for subscribers of co-location services. NOC engineers, using combination of In-house developed, Commercial, and a number of Open Source Software tools, continuously monitor network infrastructure stability, server, service and resource availability, response time, and security integrity. Response to correlated trap or threshold events is rapid and focused. Exceptions are logged, tracked and timed to ensure compliance with SLAs.

Operational trending and reporting of system and application characteristics serves to advise customers of historical service health and may identify potential issues for early correction.

Providing these services as an out-sourced function presents customers with an opportunity to control operating cost through reduction in headcount and eliminating cost associated with development of a properly functioning NOC and NSM service infrastructure.

Technical Specification for Proactive Monitoring Services:

The Monitoring Service is provided with all Server Maintenance plans. It is also offered as a stand-alone service for a minimal fee.

Direct port monitoring (agentless and unlimited ports per server)

HTTP(S), FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, DNS, PING, or custom port

Direct port Quality Assurance monitoring (agentless and unlimited)

  1.
Tests the Primary and Secondary DNS server's ability to respond to name lookups.
  2. QA DNS (Quality Assurance Domain Name Server)
  1.
Tests an FTP server's ability login a user and to transmit a requested file.
  2. QA FTP (Quality Assurance File Transfer Protocol)
  1.
Tests A Web server's ability to accept incoming sessions and transmit a requested page.
  2. QA HTTP (Quality Assurance HyperText Transfer Protocol)
  1.
Tests an SMTP mail server's ability to accept mail and distribute it to a POP3 mail server. This tests a POP3 mail server's ability to login users.
  2. QA POP3 (Quality Assurance Post Office Protocol)
  1.
Tests an SMTP mail server's ability to accept mail and distribute it to a IMAP4 mail server. This tests an IMAP4 mail server's ability to login users.
  2. QA IMAP4 (Quality Assurance Internet Message Access Protocol)
  1.
Tests a web page or a series of ecommerce links, validating the availability of each link.
  2. QA LINK (Quality Assurance Link Checker)
    And many more!

Advanced Service and Resource Monitoring (SNMP based)

A busy server can be monitored using our agent without any resource concerns. We've found most other agents taxing the performance of busy servers.
  • Process (UNIX/Linux running process/pids) based: Example httpd, named, sshd, imapd, named, mysqld, or other process.

  • Ability to use customer's own custom script to plug into our monitoring system.
  • Threshold Monitoring:

Setup alerts that trigger when Bandwidth hits the set threshold and send an alert. Same goes with loadavg, CPU, disk utilization, etc.

Customer Viewable Live Bandwidth and Resource Graphs

  • Customer logs in and finds a list of his servers and network devices:

  • Select a server/device and be presented with Live Graphs for bandwidth (per NIC), CPU, Memory, LoadAvg, Disk Utilization (per partition), and more:

CPU Graph (24 hour)

Load Average (24 hour)

Disk Partition (24 hour)

Memory Utilization (24 hour)
