Over the years, we have found most server outages occur because of mis-configuration or user error. This is why we introduced our low cost “Preventative Maintenance” package which targets simple preventative maintenance issues and gives you access to our 24 X 7 engineering staff in case you need it. This plan is perfect for those servers which are already setup and really do not change in configuration from day to day.

During the initial setup, a security audit is performed by checking running services and scheduled jobs (cron, anacron, start-up scripts.) We also disable any unnecessary services. On a weekly basis we maintaining each server by keeping everything up to date, including standard kernel (for Linux), and security/errata/bug updates for Linux and Windows. We also check CPU, memory/swapping, I/O load, disk utilization and SYSLOG messages for any abnormalities. Under this package, we also engage our “Proactive Monitoring System” to alert our staff via email and pager if any services fail to respond, or are slow to respond (both a performance and service availability check.) When an alarm is triggered, our 24 x 7 Network Operations Engineers will troubleshoot and fix the problem.

The cost of this plan is $99 per server per month with additional hourly charges for any work performed. Our normal hourly rate during “Normal Business Hours” and “Nights, Weekends and Holidays” is $175/$300 per hour with NO guaranteed response times. Under this plan we reduce the rate to $150/$250 per hour with guaranteed response times and a Service Level Agreement.
